The OCR specification listed a wide variety for our A2 coursework from the creation of a music video to a newspaper. I have chosen to do a promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video with a magazine advertisement for the digipack and a digipack for the albums release (CD cover). I chose to do this as I feel as though I can expand on my horizons and knowledge do have creative control over a new type of media.
I have decided to expand from the genre and media type I had chosen for my coursework last year. I moved on from the genre type because it wouldn't be appropriate to do again and i want to try new conventions of different genre's. Furthermore, in my coursework last year the mise-en-scene was hard to construct on such a low budget meaning that the costumes weren't as effective as they could have been bringing my grade down. by having a music video set in modern day makes things such as costume, props and hair and makeup easier to construct within a scene.
Moreover, to go alongside the music video I have decided to produce a CD cover and a magazine advertisement for the 'new album'. I have chosen to do this as I have previous experience with the creation of print promotion as I created a promotion package for a film release within my Graphic Design GCSE; achieving an A grade.
